J.Walker conducts groups and seminars throughout the Los Angeles area and is often invited to speak on music business panels about Hip Hop, as well as appear and perform in the Corporate area for working adults. His message is always one of inspiration, self-empowerment and positivity. He can bring his messages through many guises, whether it be as guest artist with a spoken word piece, a song, or conducting a full workshop. Rhymecology workshops specifically for At-Risk Youth In J.Walker’s Rhymecology group for at risk youth’ Hip Hop will meet ‘The Secret’. The main emphasis of the group is to teach children to express, discover and create themselves through hip hop lyrics. The group focus is on giving voices to the voiceless in a positive manner in the medium that impressionable minds know best, Hip Hop. In J.Walker’s Rhymecology class, Hip Hop will meet 'The Secret'. The main emphasis of the class is interactive hip hop lyric writing; challenging the students to go "outside of box" that many artists are confined to writing in. Through their lyric writing students will be looking at the issues within themselves and society. Students will be exposed to hip hop history, examples of the different rap forms, freestyle, guest artists and much more! Do you love Hip Hop? Do you live Hip Hop? Have you ever wondered how they keep coming up with those lyrics?? In joining this class you will become well versed in the art of hip hop rhyming, storytelling, multi syllabic rhyme schemes, rap metaphors and much more. Come to class, create a rap and perform it in front of your classmates! We all use the same language and words, so there is no reason that you can’t be writing lyrics on their level. Their classic songs don’t just fall from the sky; they are created from ideas and words which go from their mind to the notebook and into the studio. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned veteran, Rhymecology will give you the tools to take your lyric writing to the next level! THE TRUTH: The world of the structure, content and rhyme schemes in hip-hop lyrics have changed dramatically. Simple rhyme schemes and generic topics just don’t cut it anymore. Lyrics are immediately put under a microscope and there no leeway for emerging artists to take their time to grow.
