Help One

Those that give...live.

So thank you to those giving cuz we're living in a society that is super sized by cell phones, it is taking a toll, we've microwaved our brains and got pop-up windows in our souls.

We are Americans, we don't think we can die, so in the blink of an eye the link to our life...is over. And if it is, I want to know what you did with it.

Who were the people you bonded with and what were your major accomplishments? I'm not a prophet no I'm far from it...but I'm starting to realize there's no way a SUV can bless you and me.

This life's not a game so it's not a cinch you can win just cuz you got an extra inch on your rims, that money could have helped out a family in a pinch cuz they've been...living on less than a dollar a day.

One in five people live on less than a dollar a day.

And that affects us cuz we're giving. Giving creates a resonance that's unequaled by any energy in this universe and just like humans, this earth has a DNA that's been shifted...by selfless people, like Martin Luther King, Princess Diana and Mahatma Ghandi, so why do we as a society idolize athletes with criminal records and rappers that boast about Don P.?

But it's not about them; it's really about us. The ones daring to be sharing, the ones who realize that caring is more important than what you’re wearing. Some reach into wallets and some into a purse but I know that every one of you would walk to the edge of the earth just to show a kid his worth. So recognize yourselves as some of the few that do, exactly what others wish they could.

Americas awareness, that's what the motive is, it's not that we don't care, it's just that we don't notice it, so were not gonna blow this shit or slow this bit till every vote is in, we're chosen kids and vocalists who wrote and spit, hoping this openness can help the homelessness.

Uniqueness

Don’t take your uniqueness for granted…

Don’t let the new branches replace the original roots that were planted, you see we’re all a part of the universal energy on this planet, so unless your whole soul knows exactly what you’re about…nobody else is gonna understand it.

In other words…don’t sell out.

Don’t sell out the heritage you inherited on your first birthday, don’t sell out the genes you got in your jeans, even though sometimes I know you want to fit in in the worst way

But last time I checked, DNA does not get rusty…

And no matter how bad you want to change and rearrange so you can fit the strange world of pop culture, you’re still you…trust me. While your ego is out gallivanting in unchartered lands, your inner child is at home alone, mumbling to himself like…Damn
“He left me again, for a new plan, another get rich quick scam that doesn’t even include the fam”

And isn’t it funny, we’re being contorted by these different twists of fate, we’re stressing so hard to keep it real that we suddenly became fake; a by product of what the crowd and someone else wanted, we’re changing like Halloween costumes but leaving ourselves haunted…we’re tricking our speech for treats, just like those guys that get high and rap over recycled beats.

So you wonder why the paint is peeling off our personalities…
It’s so accepted to be a martyr that we actually curse the galaxies, from which we came, somebody told me poetry has gotta be hot, so I stuffed a match box in my mouth and tried to spit a flame, oh its insane-

I think you gotta check your spelling…like Aaron and Tori, cuz the author not the reviewer is the one writing this story, we’re fighting for glory but what happens when we as artists look in the mirror, with these ever-changing masks its getting harder to see clearer. Our personalities can spring and fall like the seasons, a couple of claps and pats on the back are all reasons for you to jump on the bandwagon called poetry gentrification, where lounges in L.A. sound like every other place in this nation

We’ve got pens and pads and we’ve got…cookie cutters
Here take this poem roll it in some dough, sugar and butter
And if you cook it just right, you can sound just like the last poet that took the mic, to new places and heights, had the crowd shaking with might, till everybody was like, “Damn, I wish I was taping tonight”

But you didn’t get that same excitement and that’s cuz your uniqueness wasn’t writing it and it was your damn insecurities that was writing it, there’s no use fighting it…you sold out!

But don’t jump down my throat saying “Who is this guy to give me poetry help?” because this started out as a letter to myself.
